Measure the route you will install

Measure from the terminal connection through every rise, bend and entry to the matching indoor equipment. Include service slack without leaving loose coils where they can snag or collect water.

Example: 6 m down the outside wall + 12 m along the approved route + 3 m inside + 2 m allowed for routing and service = 23 m. A 15 m cable will not fit even if the dish is only 10 m from the router in a straight line.

Select by exact hardware

The current Standard accessory guide lists 15 m and 45 m cables for Standard 4 and 4X. That is not a universal 150-foot limit for every Starlink. Mini, Actuated and Performance use different cable or power arrangements. Match the actual part listing and terminal before ordering.

Do not splice a powered terminal cable or substitute a generic Ethernet lead simply because a connector looks similar. If the route exceeds an approved option, redesign the equipment location or network handoff.

Before pulling cable

• Measure the connector and boot, not just the cable diameter.
• Check every opening and bend, with access for future replacement.
• Protect connector faces from dirt and avoid pulling on the connector itself.
• Keep the route away from sharp edges, heat, moving parts and crushing fasteners.
• Approve the indoor router position and visible route before drilling.

Conduit and weather protection

Conduit protects a route but does not guarantee a dry interior. Use cable and fittings suited to the conditions, plan drainage and sealing appropriately, and avoid trapping moisture at connectors. Underground routing also needs utility locating and a suitable installation method; depth is site-dependent.

Keep a route photograph and cable part number. Inspect accessible supports and entry seals after later building work.
