What to Do When Starlink Says Service Is Unavailable at Your Address
Check address accuracy, map placement, plan availability, capacity, and account status before purchasing equipment or scheduling installation.
Unavailable can describe different problems
The message may relate to regional capacity, plan availability, an address that was not recognized, an incorrect map location, an account restriction, or equipment that is not eligible to activate. Do not assume it means the property can never receive Starlink—or that purchasing a different dish will automatically solve it.
Verify the physical service location
Enter the complete address as recognized by the current ordering system and examine any location pin carefully, especially on rural parcels with long driveways, private roads, multiple buildings, or recently assigned addresses. The service location should represent where the terminal will actually operate, not merely the mailing address.
Compare only plans offered for that location
Fixed, travel, and business-oriented options can have different availability and terms. Review the actual offer shown for the property and intended use. Do not select a travel plan solely to bypass a fixed-service limitation without understanding price, priority, portability, and current terms.
Do not buy hardware based on an assumption
A discounted or used terminal is not useful if it cannot be activated for the intended service. Verify availability, ownership transfer, hardware compatibility, and total cost before paying a seller or scheduling permanent installation. Keep screenshots of the offer or error for support.
Separate service availability from sky visibility
An address may be eligible for service while the property has severe tree obstructions, or it may have an excellent sky view while an account plan is unavailable. The Starlink availability check and an installation site survey answer different questions; both may be necessary.
Escalate with complete information
If the address, pin, plan, and equipment appear correct, contact Starlink Support through the account and provide the exact message, location details, terminal identifier when relevant, and steps already attempted. Avoid creating several accounts or repeated orders as a troubleshooting method.
Confirm with the official source.
Check the instructions for your exact kit, accessory, and service plan before making a hardware or account decision.
