Before buying accessories

Check service availability at the intended address, identify the exact kit, and assess candidate dish locations. Buy a mount and longer cable only after the route and compatibility are clear. Keep packaging and receipts until the equipment and installation plan are confirmed.

A kit purchased for an unsuitable location does not solve an obstruction problem. For uncertain roofs, wooded sites or long routes, arrange the site review before committing to specialized accessories.

What to send your installer

• The address, building type, number of floors and access restrictions.
• A photo of the whole building and each proposed mounting area from a safe position.
• The roof edge, fascia or wall close enough to identify its material.
• The proposed indoor router location, nearby power and cable-entry area.
• Existing mounts, cable paths and any visible damage.
• The kit name, labels and accessories already purchased; keep account credentials private.
• Your obstruction-scan observations and the rooms or outbuildings that need service.

Include approximate dimensions rather than relying on photographs for scale. Tell the installer about planned roofing, siding, trees or additions that may change the choice.

On appointment day

Clear the indoor route and provide access to the agreed areas. Keep pets away from the work zone. Have the complete kit, approved accessories and your account device available. Agree on where vehicles or access equipment can go.

Walk the proposed route before work begins and confirm any changes in writing. At handover, test the connection where you actually use it, record the Wi-Fi details, and ask for mount and entry photos. Keep unapproved extras separate from the original quote so nobody has to guess what you authorized.
